Custom prosthetics for animals and birds are all about precision, lightness, and reliability. For this project, 3D WAY was approached with a request to create a prosthetic for a bird that would be comfortable to wear, allow for unrestricted movement, and withstand daily wear and tear.

We performed 3D modeling tailored to the task: we designed the ergonomics, the geometry of the components, and the connection joint so that the prosthesis would function as a mechanical support while remaining as lightweight as possible. For manufacturing, we chose SLA 3D printing using engineering photopolymer resin—a material that provides high precision, a smooth surface, and the increased strength required for functional products.

After printing, the part underwent post-processing and was prepared for use. The result is a precise, durable prosthesis, custom-made for this specific case, which helps the bird regain stability and mobility in its daily movements.
