Watch case made of Castable photopolymer resin
At 3DWAY, we brought to life a project for creating a watch case from burnout photopolymer resin. This is a perfect example of how 3D printing is applied in the jewelry industry for prototyping and making casting molds.
The main technology used is DLP, which provides extremely high detail and a perfectly smooth surface. Thanks to its precision, complex and elegant jewelry pieces can be created: rings, earrings, beads, pendants, bracelets, and more.

The process included:
- Creating an accurate 3D prototype of the piece;
- Producing a wax model and embedding it in a plaster-like material;
- Burnout of the wax to leave a mold, ready for casting with precious metals.
This project demonstrates how combining technology and jewelry craftsmanship allows for flawless, highly detailed finished pieces.
